Scope and Content Note: (overall look at the collection) The collection consists of scrapbooks containing Albert W. Atwood’s articles and editorials from The the Saturday Evening Post and The National Geographic Magazine, as well as three books and a poster from the DC Public Library. Also included are photographs, articles, and awards.

The control file for this collection contains a title index of Mr. Atwood’s articles and editorials from The Saturday Evening Post.

The Bethea-Welch VFW Post 7248 Ladies Auxiliary Collection documents the day-to-day business of the club and contains lists of officers, events, meeting notes, minutes, and programs, printed materials, awards, and officer lists. Of particular note are photographs and scrapbooks documenting Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) events.

Scope and Contents The collection contains items of the Capital Bicycle Club dating from 1880 to 1929, and includes 126 photographs, two scrapbooks, and five record books. The photographs are of the Club’s events including the 5th Annual League of American Wheelman Races on May 20, 1884 and Herbert S. “Bert” Owen’s Birthday Run on May 7, 1888. The collection consists of three scrapbooks about the D.C. Militia (National Guard) Engineer Battalion. Materials included in the scrapbooks include: clippings from local and national newspapers, correspondence, programs, flyers, maps, blueprints, and photographs. The scrapbooks are labeled "1890-1898," however, the materials extend to 1906. Each scrapbook contains notes at the beginning regarding the contents.

The four scrapbooks that make up this collection contain clippings, programs, and photographs documenting the successes and failures of the Metropolitan Police Department. Also included in these scrapbooks are clippings related to the King and Queen of England.

Scope and Contents The collection consists primarily of photographs of dancers from the school with some dance programs and clippings about the school’s performance recitals. The photographs depict a wide range of dance costumes and dance styles, including ballet, tap, modern, ethnic, and exotic. Consists of meeting minutes (1949-1965) and correspondence of the Michigan Park Citizens Association. It also contains a scrapbook of photographs, letters, and other memorabilia about the Michigan Park Garden Club (1951-1973).

The materials in this collection consist of newsletters, correspondence, photographs, clippings, programs, and ballots. The materials are bound in two volumes: Volume 2 covering the years 1940-1947 and Volume 3 covering the years 1947-1952. Each year is separated by title sheets and begins with a photograph of the President of the Association.
